The official launch took place on 12 March 2025 at The Spine in Liverpool. Professor Sarah Coupland explained how the Trusted Research Environment digitises clinical, ocular and radiological images, histological slides, tumour genetic results and outcome data from the group's 14-year-old Ocular Oncology Biobank.
The initiative partners with AIMES/ARO Technology and Roche Diagnostics to enable data analysis and artificial-intelligence applications for improved diagnostics and treatments. The Lord Mayor, Richard Kemp, attended the opening ceremony.
