Ride for Renée
A team of cyclists (Ben G, Neil M, Nathan R, Neil K and Ben H) rode from London to Paris over three days in memory of Renée Metroka, generating the most generous single donation the group has ever received.

Research into rare eye cancers receives little national funding, so our supporters make it possible. Here are some of the people and events that have made a genuine difference.
Our friends and supporters at Unilever have walked half and full marathons across London in memory of their colleague, Renée Metroka.
The 2019 walk brought around 200 Unilever employees together and raised approximately £60,000. A virtual Great Walk followed in 2020, and in 2022 walkers returned to the streets of London, with one supporter clocking an astonishing 69,387 steps in a single day, finishing at the Kia Oval.

Wendy's Wish presented a wonderful £10,000 to the group, directed towards our research into uveal melanoma, the most common primary eye cancer in adults.
The See the Future charity has supported eye tumour research at the group, including funds raised through its Charity Summer Ball.
Brave supporters took to the skies for the group: Carol and Alan Goodridge, and Derek Tickle, each completing tandem skydives to raise funds for eye cancer research.
Mark Dorward walked the Kiltwalk in memory of his father, Sandy. He is one of many supporters who have taken on a personal challenge in memory of a loved one.
Grassroots collections add up: our community attic sales raised £613 and £601, with cupcake and craft stalls, and a Land’s End to John O’Groats cycle ride, all swelling the total.
